8 X 30 Project Day 240

Oh Wow! When I typed the title of this blog I realized that it was blog 240. Eight months of blogging and what a joy it has been for me. I love it. I haven’t made it every night because of several illnesses but I am so glad that I have made it this far.

We are on the serious count down now. SINGLE DIGIT SLEEPS!!!!!!!! Only one more Tuesday to make it though…I am getting excited and as you might have guessed Juju’s homecoming outfit is coming together! LOL

I had planned on putting up some pics from Molly’s day on the boat tonight but Travis didn’t get to it. He doesn’t realize that I blog every night or something. cough…cough….

So I thought I would also let you guys know that I am currently taking another workshop through Clickinmoms. I did not enjoy the last one that I took and do not recommend it to anyone. When the instructor is not around or there for CC she should not be aloud to continue to teach on the forum. I am afraid it might be a bad thing for the CM workshops, which are very awesome and I love them. So I am taking Photoshop 201, a continuation of my first class that I took back in November or December, can’t remember now. But Lisa is an excellent teacher. This week I am late turning in my first week assignment because I was sick but I finally got it done! Our assignment this week was on blending layers and dodging and burning. Lots of fun little tools to know and very easy to figure out.

I decided to use this pic of Gracie to work on.

We had to submit a straight out of the camera pic.

This is my edited version for the assignment:

For all you photogs, I did some global edits to begin with. White Balance, Exposure, Reduce Noise and sharpen. Then I flattened the image. Did a Lighted layer and adjusted the opacity. After this I did some dodging an burning. Another fancy word for lightening and darkening. 🙂

I really like my pic but lets see what the instructors say.

Tomorrow I am very excited about my newborn shoot!!!! It is my friend Lauren’s little girl! It is her specially model session tomorrow and I just can’t wait to get my hands on that little girl!!!!

Great job on Gracie’s picture Jenny. I see catch lights in her eyes. How did you do this with natural light? I will need some lessons before you guys move to OK. Nice touch with DoF. F 2.8?

Great job!!! Love the dodge & burn tools too. What exactly is a Lighted layer? Your daughter is the perfect model, she’s beautiful!
