2/52 on Friday | Black and White

Friday is the day for posting my 52 on Friday. I am doing this with a group of super talented women on The Bloom Forum. It is neat since at the bottom of this post you will find a link to another blog and at the end of her post you will also find another link to another blog. This will happen and continue full circle back to my blog. Make sure to check out all of the talent.

This weeks theme is Black and White. My favorite! I love love black and white. It is the best way to portray emotion in an image to me. By taking away all the color there is less of a distraction from the main character in the image’s story.

I had a really hard time this week picking one. I also really didn’t have time to go out and shoot specifically for this project either. But I have decided that I will pick this picture of Molly. She was in the ER on Wednesday and my regular readers will recognize this from last nights post, but she is getting a CT scan to check for kidney stones. They wouldn’t let me stay in the room with her since my littlest one was with me.

I took this with my iPhone and then edited it in Photoshop.

Please make sure to head on over to Lila’s page and check out her Black and White 52 on Friday post.

I’m impressed that you were able to use an iphone picture for this. Sorry for the circumstances, but the scene certainly presented itself as a great dramatic picture for b&w.

Shannon Wermers - January 29, 2011 - 5:57 am

OMG I hope that all is well with Molly. Kidney stones are not fun. You did a wonderful job of showing emotion in this picture. I am a nurse and a hospital is one place where you can see emotion everywhere. Great Pic 🙂
