8 X 30 Project Day 167- More Snow

Well this is funny we were told that there would only be a dusting of snow AND that it would stop by three yesterday. It was still coming down off and on till late last night and there are several inches of snow still on the ground. This morning it was really cold and ice was every where. When it started to snow yesterday there was a couple of inches of slush under the snow on the road. My car door was frozen shut this morning, of course I HAD to be somewhere. UGH! But I braved it out and the slickest part was getting out of the neighborhood, the roads were pretty good till tonight, then I could really tell a difference in the roads. It is sort of like hitting a puddle at 70 mph except you are only doing 30. Really weird. Good thing my dad is a paranoid driver and taught me how to handle a car. I thought he was crazy for randomly pulling up the parking brake and making me spin out to gain control, but know I understand why. Thanks Dad.

The girls and I had a pretty busy day. The car needed to go in for some work, so we had to be up and out of the house early for this. It is no fun waiting for a car to be ready with four kids and I don’t recommend it with four hungry and tired kids either. We left and everyone was still intact and the building wasn’t burnt down. Luckily the owner has kids too. Then a quick bite to eat, some grocery shopping, back home to unload, take a few pics, and then out again to therapy. Whew, are you tired from just reading that!

The girls were a handful today. They were very tired and really pushing my buttons. Gracie knows how to push all of our buttons and she was like a kid in an elevator running their hands up and down the whole lot of them. I consider her lucky to be still  a live today. 🙂

Hunter continues to be a charmer. Today after seeing a match.com commercial, she says to me, “After you say it is okay for me to date mom, I am going to do that. I am going to look me up a guy that way.” She is really so funny. The other day she told me, “That if you hold in your farts, it will kill the baby in your tummy.”.  I am not sure where she comes up with it all, maybe all those extra brain cells or something. She has a destiny with a camera somewhere this is for sure.

I am still trying to work on my Macro shots. I need to look at the list of shots for the 52 weeks of Macro that I am going to start this weekend. I feel as if I am a little lost on the composition of the shots. But as with anything, the more I practice the better I will get. Here are a few of a visit from Jack Frost.

Tomorrow the girls and I are taking a trip down to Seattle to visit with some friends. I am excited to get to hang out with another photog and the girls are excited to see their friends. Then back home to rest and party for the new year. Not really, I have a cold, so hopefully we will go to bed early!

Awesome photos. Hunter is really too funny. She makes me laugh. Sorry Gracie was a turd. Love you.

I wont comment on the domestic stuff, however the frost shots look very good. I would recommend cropping some very severely to simplify the comps a bit, especially the last three. On the first two, you might like Black and White. BTW, I can’t wait for Hunter to start to date boys.

Neat pictures Jenny! I really like the second one. It’s very interesting and I find myself looking at it longer than the others. So cool! Sometimes I wish it snowed down here. (Although most of the time I don’t … it’s in the 40s tonight and I’m freezing my butt off. No snow required!)
